GAME: Dread Locks Monster Barber

Hair Raising Horror in the Barber Shop

2025-09-23

You are an expert barber who just opened up a shop in Monstertown. You know that a haircut is never just a haircut. It’s an opportunity to be daring, to re-invent yourself, to try something new, to see yourself in a new light.

Each client has a special occasion they want to celebrate, for which they need a snappy new do. But each also has a challenging situation that will test your barber skills.

To play, you will need 1 four-sided dice (or a dice rolling app) and a pen and paper to write, doodle, and daydream in.

Roll the dice. Count that many rows down the table. That client walks in with that situation, and that occasion. What do you do? How do you adapt to the situation? Does your client leave highly satisfied?

Once you have finished with that client, cross out that row and roll again, skipping over any crossed out rows.

You can close up shop early any time you want to. But to reach the end of your shift, keep rolling until you land on the final row of the table, spooky 13. Reflect on the challenges you faced, and on how you shaped your clients so they can rise to their opportunities as their best selves.

OPTIONAL CHAOS RULES: roll the dice not once for the row, but three times, once for each column. So you might get a furry skeleton, etc. Instead of crossing out a whole row, cross out each table cell as you finish with each client.
