You have recently arrived in Blue Harbor and are staying at Giggling Bear.
You have received three letters:
I.
Kreev, the goblin mayor of Blue Harbor, has to proclaimed today an official holiday in honor of the running of the snats. Unfortunately the goblin mayor has absolutely zero actual political authority and in fact is barely recognized even in the Blue Harbor goblin district. Partly because the title of Goblin Mayor changes hands constantly---sometimes several times a day---based on whichever goblin has the largest and or most ostentatious hat.
The memorial is the word SNAT crudely carved into the side of a cobblers shop on Blood Street.
Vito offers his bag of teeth (half up front) and the promise of an even better hat for Kreev's hat. Kreev immediately opens a tooth shop. Half of the goblin district starts following the orders of the goblin with the next best hat, but half recognize Vito as mayor of goblin town. Vito promises them greatness and prosperity in exchange for cogs, gears, and sprockets.
II.
The gang's antics have drawn the attention of the Blue Harbor Adventurer's Guild (BHAG). President Loden Earthstone greets offers to waive the application fee for an adventurers license.
Groups employed by the Blue Harbor Adventurers Guild are licensed and insured against liability. You get a 100 gold signing bonus. We will find you jobs and collect 10% of the monetary value of any treasure you find. You can keep the rest. But I personally will pay top price for any precious gemstones you may find! You can also hire one of our pages (Durr the doglike Kobold) for a discounted rate of 5 GP per day. They'll cook and clean and carry your supplies! I'm going to register you as Team Agate unless you have a better suggestion.
You first job is to investigate the source of the contamination that is poisoning people who drink or bathe in the river.
III.
You journey up the stream and meet Borogrove the Talking Tree and beat up some bush brats and some frog people. A mushroom screams at you and you punch a bear.
