A dry, leathery, papery, fluttering thing with four wings and a long probiscus so that it resembles a grasping hand as it flies toward you and latches on. A cross between a bat and a featherless bird and a mosquito, it will jab its needle like probiscus into a victim and drink until it is dead. Appears in flocks. Will prefer a victim that doesn't already have another bitbat on it. (Doesn't like to share.) But will double up if there aren't options. Has numbing saliva so the insertion of the probiscus isn't felt, so it can prey on sleeping creatures without disturbing them. If unable to attach, will fly away out of reach and try to swoop down and attach next turn. Removing a bitebat requires no action.

Bitebats are the source of Dungeon Jelly, a dark honey-like substance that has different qualities depending on what the bitebat was feeding on.
