I did 17 bloggers in 2k23, the year of the Barbie Movie.

I keep the source of all of my blog posts in these m4 files. And luckily they all include metadata including title and date. So I do some funky sed regex search and replace to format them in such a way that I can do a recsel on them. And then I have queryable blog post data!

Look at this silly bash oneliner.

SOLO GAMES

I have sadly ignored all of my solo games for what feels like 3/4 of the year. I would really like to get back into them in 2024, because I enjoy each of them. They all have a different vibe and feel.

PLAYER GAMES

• Newton Handle and Planar Nexus: okay these were a couple of dungeon crawl live text games that were run by sean and tibbius respectively. it was the three of us in each game. and there was a lot of thematic overlap, and it felt like they were mirror images of each other a lot of the time, which made them feel a little surreal. neat experience.

• D&D Holiday Oneshot: festive holiday oneshot with coworkers. the party was 60% bards!

• Sleepaway: really wanted to have fun with this one, but it was too freeform and loosey goosey for my high tactics wargaming group. fizzled out before it really took off. sadface. https://possumcreekgames.itch.io/sleepaway

• Betrayal at House on the Hill: a creative one shot with coworkers. basically a haunted house dungeon crawl using the tiles from the board game.

• Twilight Dungeon of the Void Magus: Quickie. A Lunchtime Live Text One Hour Oneshot (LTLT OHOS) skill/stam/luck dungeon crawl with sean and florik. fun fun fun.

• Dark Sun: My irl gaming group plays a highly comedic grimdark 5e D&D game every two weeks. So much fun!

DM GAMES

• Spelljammer: My 5e spelljammer completed this year. It was fun! Despite the shortcomings of the spelljammer sourcebook.

• Troika: Ran Small Medium Large, the winner of the 2022 One Page Dungeon Contest, for a bunch of discordians. Had a blast. I friggin love Troika. https://www.dungeoncontest.com/opdc-2022

I made $68 total from itch.io this year. Which I consider to be pretty good because I don’t really promote my games that much, and also I always offer a free download option.

The forest game is still by best selling game, now followed by vumpire.
